What do you use to support setting and tracking goals?
Many people set the goals, start off strong by taking action on them, yet after a period of time, they fizzle out and the goals drift away. How can you stop that from happening to you? Whether it's losing 10 lbs. or creating a million dollars, if you have organization and a system in place to support the duration of your goals you stand a much better chance of achieving the goals.
That's exactly why Gina Robison-Billups, my co-author and I created a system to help you all the way through the process from setting goals, project development and into daily actions that you need to take to reach your goals. Last is the important piece of listing your accomplishments and results from that day. You can find this system neat and organized in The Accomplishment Journal series.
Whether you use The Accomplishment Journal or some other method, consider the following tips for accomplishing your goals.
Organize Your Plan
Set your completion date and create a timeline.
Make a calendar for the duration of your goal that you can post or see on a daily basis.
Create a chart that shows the movement you are making toward the goal.
If you have a goal that requires specific steps, list and order the designated steps.
Create a Support System
Set a specific time each day to review your actions and how you are doing.
Tell someone your goal and how he or she can support you.
Get a coach.
Create a reward for achieving your goal.
So, what is the first most important component of working to accomplish your goals? Simply your intention! Good luck setting and reaching your dreams!
