There is still time to coast in 2010

I can hear you now, "Coast? Are you kidding?"

Let me clarify.  You know when approach a downhill and how great it feels to coast for a little bit?  Whether you are on your bike, cross country skiing, working on a home improvement project, planning an event or even experiencing the week, when you reach either the half way point or the point where it has a downhill momentum you get to let out a big sigh of relief and coast for a bit.

Have you had a chance to coast at all this year?

How is your year unfolding?  This year has been full of a wide variety of challenges for everyone.  No one has been immune to it.  Yet, I will not look at the challenges before us as gloom and doom.  It's an opportunity exercise your commitment, your unique skill and your ability to organize your actions.

At the beginning of the year, you likely set some goals for 2010.  We've passed the halfway point and hopefully you have positioned yourself to do a little coasting.  Coasting doesn't mean that you don't have to work, it should just mean that things are a little easier now and you don't have to work AS HARD! You spent time at the beginning of the year setting up the systems, creating components to support your goals, gathered all the resources, invested time and money.  Now your system should just need a just a little attention for oiling or tweaking, otherwise it should simply be a smooth running system!

If you are not coasting or just not coasting as much as you would like, here are 5 actions you can take right now to set yourself up for some coasting before the year is out!

If you are not coasting or just not coasting as much as you would like, here are 5 actions you can take right now to set yourself up for some coasting before the year is out!

1) Action Management
Be aware of your daily, weekly and monthly productivity to ensure your actions are leading you toward your goals.  This is for your projects, regular maintenance, obligations and anything else that takes your time.

2) Wellness
Make sure your wellness of body, mind and spirit maintains a place of priority in your life or it will force you to make it a priority that costs you more time and money than if you had just done it in the first place!

3) Financial Foundation
Verify that you are up to date on your accounting and have a clear picture of your P&L so far this year, what it looks like for the remainder of the year and what you can still do to improve your bottom line.

4) Gratitude
Forward movement has a greater chance of occurring when you are standing on the foundation of gratitude.   Thank your family, your friends, your customers, your resources and yourself for the contributions made in support of your goals and life.

5) Play a little, will you?
(OK, that one might be for me!)  Taking a break, being playful and relaxing all benefit your actions and attitude.

Each one of these areas can benefit from taking a look at them through organizing glasses!  Before the year slips away, contact me for an appointment to look at your actions through my organizing glasses!  Together we will create the path needed for reaching your goals.

...........................Then get ready to raise your arms up in the air, let the wind blow across your smiling face and coast a little!!!  It's going to be a great ride!
